Continuous Friction Measuring Equipment (CFME) involves skidding a special, non-treaded tyre across the pavement surface. This measures the resultant resistance force to calculate surface frictional properties.


The PaveTesting Continuous Friction Tester (CFT) provides the fast method of surface friction testing available. The Pave®CFTfeatures  functionality, with easy to use features that provide  flexible choice of configuration options.

The equipment is operated via a standard Microsoft Windows platform with built in touch screen technology, making the PaveTesting software simple and intuitive to use. Despite offering  quality and accuracy, the Pave®CFT has low operation and maintenance costs, competitive purchase price.


The PaveTesting side force CFT has been designed and built under the ISO9001 quality standard to be robust, consistent and 100%reliable in all environmental conditions. It is a comprehensive design solution that complies with the requirements of international Highways Agencies, Departments of Transport and Aviation Regulators, meeting the surface testing needs.

Continuous friction trace and side force measurement are used to measure road surface friction to reduce the risk of road accidents. Each unit is capable of measuring the coefficient friction of the pavement surface at speeds of up to 135kmph with complete trailer stability. The unit is trailer mounted and attached via a tow bracket to a vehicle containing the water supply. If extra capacity is required, the Pave® CFT-TM Truck Mounted system is also available.


Wheel raising, lowering and adjustments are hydraulically operated using a simple control unit. Water delivery is controlled via the on-board computer and ambient/surface temperature is measured automatically.

Feature

• Paye CFT adopts a dual test wheel swing design, which makes the equipment weight more balanced. When not tested, the dual wheels are longitudinal, greatly reducing the wear and tear caused by normal traction of the test tires

• High reliability, high repeatability, and high precision

• The testing principle is the same as SCRIM, and it has a high data correlation with SCRIM. After comparison with SCRIM, the SFC value can be directly output through input conversion in the testing software

• Adopting a universal ball hook connection method, without the need for dedicated towing vehicles, vehicles can be modified according to user needs, simple and reliable

• The power supply voltage of the equipment is consistent with that of the traction vehicle, without the need for voltage conversion

• The automatic sprinkler system adopts a gasoline engine water pump, and the thickness of the sprinkler film can be selected

• High integration of control system, capable of long-term faultless operation

• The testing software has multiple language options, including English and Chinese

• Can configure GPS module to collect positioning information for testing positions (optional)

• Can be configured with a camera system to capture images of the road surface and road conditions at the testing location (optional)
